House Construction Site

    Hard Hats Required!

Several years ago Chuck started to mention that there appeared to be more village and less living space in our house.  As he continued to express this opinion, I always answered with "then build me a place for my villages."  When we decided to build a new house, Chuck, in an effort to make his house a home, asked what I would think of having the villages in their own home. So, in order of importance, the Village Building is under construction and our new house comes second.

Many of you have expressed an interest in the development of our Village Building, which will have an attached garage for our motor home.  The Village portion measuring 42 ft by 18 ft.

Rain slowed the start of construction.  We had all the makings for
a mud bath but not for a firm foundation.
Finally the project begins and the walls start to go up.
Hummmmmmm - That ladder has potential.
Wonder if the contractor would miss it?
The contractor told me that all that display base material is
going to be used for the roof.  Darn

Well, the contractor finally got tired of trying to explain why the
little building was going up first and told us he had to get the main
house started - made him look like he didn't know what he was doing!
Roofing tiles make great roads.  Now what was that tip
about using dirt in our displays?
I said I wanted room for mountains but.........a 14 foot ceiling
Just in case we run out of room in the Village Building, the new house
has a display ledge around the entire family room.

Just a little reminder, this Village House Page will constantly be updated.  As we go further into construction we will be adding more pictures.  When the house is done we will start on the display. A separate page just for the display pictures will soon follow.  Party invitations will be sent at that time.  Please keep checking back for further updates!
A special thanks to Ellen Beighley for writing the captions.
